Scholarship for Christian Work

In 2025, the Chapin Foundation initiated a new program based on a directive from our founder, Mr. Simeon B. Chapin:

……Thereafter the Board of Advisers are hereby authorized and directed to use and
expend the remainder of the income arising or accruing form the trust hereby
created: (1) to aid groups of young people or adult members of any regularly
organized church or churches in the town of Myrtle Beach, S.C., who may be
chosen or selected by such church or churches as leaders for special training in
religious work to attend religious camps or training centers….

And…

[Mr. Chapin] had an abiding faith in the value of trained religiously leadership and looks
with especial favor upon such training of young people and adults as if furnished
by religious camps and training centers usually carried on by the various religious
denomination….
