Our Founder, A Man of Vision
Simeon B. Chapin was a man of faith, a man of vision and a man of action. He cared about people and built programs and institutions to make their lives and communities better. In 1911, he joined with Burroughs & Collins to begin development of Myrtle Beach.
In the early 1940’s, Mr. Chapin sold his Wall Street brokerage business and retired. He then created four foundations, one here in Myrtle Beach, SC. His passion was to grow the communities he loved, to inspire young people and encourage faith in God.
In his own words, “I love to see things grow. I would have no right to the things I have if I did not share them with others.” – Simeon B. Chapin
