Chapin Foundation support for the Art Museum goes back to the Museum’s early years – some 26 years ago. This support has enabled the Art Museum to grow and enhance its offerings while remaining true to its mission of being one of the finest visual arts museums in the Carolinas. In addition to assisting the Museum in designing and completing the Museum’s Simeon Chapin Art Resource Library, Foundation funding has also helped in creating the Lineta Pritchard Potter Studio (2018) and completing gallery renovations in 2019. Perhaps the most fortunate beneficiaries of the Foundation’s support are the children of our Myrtle Beach community. Since 2001, The Chapin Foundation has helped the Art Museum to design and implement (free-of-charge) Summer KidsArt Workshops, an Afterschool Art Program at Chapin Memorial Library, art classes at the Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand and Early Art Education Classes at six daycare/child development centers in the City of Myrtle Beach. On behalf of the Art Museum and the children of Myrtle Beach, a great big thank you to The Chapin Foundation.
