The Chapin Foundation is pleased to announce it’s 2024-2025 Intern, Ashlyn Brown. Hailing from Charleston, SC, Ashlyn is a Junior at Coastal Carolina University, majoring in Business Management with a specialization in PGA Golf Management and a member of the prestigious Wall Fellows program. Wall Fellows is a 2-year leadership and professional development program that prepares students for not only their first job, but also their last.
The Chapin Foundation established an internship with the Wall Fellows last year to provide young leaders the opportunity to learn about the business of Philanthropy, as well as to impart an appreciation for the role of Philanthropy within the community. “The Chapin Foundation Board feels strongly about fostering a new generation of philanthropists, and what better place to start than with the student leaders right in our back yard,” states Tory Mackey, the Foundation’s Executive Director. Interns will assist the Foundation with its marketing and social media activities, participate in the grantmaking process, engage with grantees through site visits and events, and help to expand the Foundation’s capacity to meet community needs in more strategic and innovative ways.
Ashlyn has a background in Junior Golf and Golf Operations. She spent this past summer at The Country Club of Charleston running a Junior Golf Program and assisting with Golf Operations. In her spare time, you can find her at a golf course, writing, or reading.
